Former Rookie of the Year Ron Hansen forever etched his name in the record books not once, but twice in 1968. Just three days after turning the first unassisted triple play in 41 years, Hansen was traded to Chicago for Tim Cullen, marking the only time two players were traded for one another twice in the same season. This Hillerich & Bradsby (32.6-oz/34-1/2") "R161" signature model bat was signed and wielded by Hansen. The uncracked weapon shows solid use and is signed on the barrel in black marker ("9" strength). More on our website.
Turned during the 1965-1968 labeling period, the high grade white ash lumber exhibits evidence of excellent game use with ball, bat-rack and deeply embedded stitch marks about the barrel, as well as a vintage black marker notation of "4" on the knob. Between the pronounced center brand and barrel stampings, Hansen has signed in black marker ("9" strength) and inscribed "1960 A.L. R.O.Y."
