HOFers Rube Marquard and Chief Bender highlight this attractive grouping—and Marquard, of course, was an accomplished singer and performer in his own right, who shared the stage with his starlet wife Blossom Seeley. Includes: 1) 1910 "Little Puff of Smoke, Good-Night" (FR w/separated covers and tape on interior pages; Doc White photo); 2) 1912 "Those Ragtime Melodies" (GD/VG; Marquard/Seeley photos); 3) 1912 "The Marquard Glide" (VG-EX; Marquard/Seeley photos); 4) 1912 "I'll Change Your Shadows to Sunshine" (VG-EX; words by, and cover photo of, Reds player Thomas H. Griffith); 5) 1912 "Remember Me To My Old Gal" (GD; Bender/Coombs/Morgan cover photo).
We're proud to present what is easily the largest vintage sheet music collection that we've come across. It consists of rare baseball songs and even rarer football examples—a good number of which showcase that most desirable feature of vintage sheet music: photographic player/team portraits. The collection measures the standard full-size dimensions of approximately 10x14 or thereabouts. Due to the nature of their delicate paper medium, many of the offerings have received strict technical grades yet actually display nicer. There are also some cover notations or inscriptions from past owners as is often the case. Now let's strike up the band!
