Born 67 years before his famous political namesake, Ted Kennedy compiled a 12-21 career mark with the Chicago White Stockings, Philadelphia Athletics and Louisville Colonels and died in relative obscurity at the age of 42. These (5) checks are each twice signed by the former hurler. Encapsulated with signatures assessed “Authentic” by PSA/DNA, these rare examples were drawn from the Commonwealth Trust Company near Kennedy’s St. Louis, MO residence. His elegant cursive shows (“10”) strength on the bottom line and reverse of each voucher.
Note: the checks date from March 12, 1906 to October 7, 1907. Kennedy passed away just three weeks after the latter check.
