Description

Following the path blazed by Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella rose up through the Negro Leagues, to become a 3X NL MVP with the Brooklyn Dodgers. "Campy's" career was tragically cut short by a 1958 automobile accident, that left the remarkable Hall of Fame catcher paralyzed.

On 5/7/59, the Dodgers hosted "Roy Campanella Night" at the Los Angeles Coliseum, with the proceeds of the event going toward Campanella's medical bills. Dodgers players who participated in an exhibition game that night, were presented with silver-plated trophy cups commemorating the event. Drink deep to Campanella's memory, with the offered presentation cup from this long ago occasion.

Hallmarked F.B. Rogers Silver Co. under the base, this silver-plated presentation cup stands 5" high, with a 10" diameter across the top rim. Engraving on the front reads "Yankee-Dodger Game In Honor Of Roy Campanella May 7th, 1959 Los Angeles Coliseum". Light to moderate wear reinforces the vintage nature of this lustrous cup, which still presents handsomely, with distinct engraving.
